KONE to supply eco-efficient elevators to office buildings in Binhai New Area, China

KONE Corporation, press release, January 13, 2011

KONE has won an order to supply 79 eco-efficient elevators with innovative technologies to two high-rise office buildings of the Yu Jia Pu Financial District in Tianjin Binhai New Area, China.

The buildings rise to a height of 131 and 177 meters and will have 14 eco-efficient KONE MonoSpace® machine-room-less elevators and 59 KONE MiniSpace(TM) elevators. The order includes KONE Polaris(TM) hybrid destination control systems, which will optimize People Flow® and ensure short wait times for the people moving around in the 28 and 39 story buildings. The KONE E-Link traffic monitoring system will help the facility managers ensure a high level of service for vertical transportation.

"We are honored to be selected by Tianjin Sanjian Construction Engineering and China Construction Third Engineering Bureau to provide People Flow solutions to a new urban area of China," says William B. Johnson, Managing Director of KONE China.

The Tianjin Binhai New Area is a major economic development zone in northern China which transforms an industrial port into a modern city with commercial zones, residential areas and parks. It is estimated these two high-rise office buildings will be completed in 2013.

The order was booked in the fourth quarter of 2011.
